Core drill bits are specifically
designed for cutting precise
circular holes in most construction
materials like brick, stone,
concrete and masonry.
Made from steel, the diamond
core drill bit comes in many
lengths and has various sized
teeth depending on the material
and cutting requirement.
A core bit (Fig. 1, Fig. 2)
is a drilling tool with a
hole through the center
that removes sediment rock
and allows the core pedestal
to pass through the bit and
into the core barrel.
A 220 V core drill of 2000 W
will do well for coring less than
500 mm, however, it is better to
turn to a core drill at 380 V of
at least 4000 W for deep core
drilling.
You can use a drilling
bit to make a hole or
you can use a core bit
to remove a core of
glass and leave a hole.
The difference is that
a drill bit will create the
hole size that it advertises,
but the core bit will create a
circle of glass in the size that it advertizes.
